DVD Profiler Import Error
« on: September 07, 2009, 02:27:06 PM »
I'm able to successfully import all of my entries from DVD Profiler (including images), except for one -- the "Quantum of Solace" entry generates the following error message during import:

"Violation of UNIQUE KEY contraint 'UQ_BioData_FullName'.  Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.BioDa..."  (see attached screenshot)

Is there any way to find out which particular entry in the Collection.XML is causing the key violation?

I have allready done a number of small fixed around importing, one was around BioData violation. Among other things it would trip up on names which have æ in them. One example the director was listed twice in the xml file, one with ae and the other with æ. AS far as the database is concerned they are the same thing and whould cause a violation.

These fixes will be in 0.41b when released

Awesome!  That's great to hear.

After some more investigation, it turns out the issue was between one of the actors listed for Quantum of Solace and one of the crew for Hellboy 2.  Each movie would import fine so long as the other was not already in the DB -- whichever I imported 2nd would get that same error messge.

I could upload the complete XML for those 2 movies, if that would help.

I have been trying to use dvd profiler update the meta. When loading up the dvdprofiler importer i would select the xml file. It would just hang there. Not even getting an error msg. I try waiting for about 15min.

I have tried the collectorz importer. That seem to work better but its not bringing the location of the file over and when it comes to actor catagory it would says Bruce Willis as Actor. This was the same issue with .3. The year date is not coming through either.Any suggestion would be great!

I would use the regular method, scanning Amazon... but some of them would not work. example 8mm would not be located unless i use 8 mm.

Thanks for you Help....

Alright I have resolved my Issue with the Collectorz with the missing of disk issue.... Seems that I have done changes to my networking and I guess it could not locate those files! ( Hopefully should be easy to resolve on my side ) second issue I have noiced. When importing from collectorz the second time. I get Duplicated of movies and 0 on the skipped files.... Whats your thought on this?

Is your OML db completely new/empty when you're trying this?  If so, try first adding a dummy movie from Amazon and download all the metadata and images, and then try the DVD Profiler import.  Also, make sure you dvdprofilersettings.xml file is setup correctly.

It seems to me that until you first add a movie with images, the db is not fully "initialized" and the DVD Proviler import engine hangs.  Adding a movie first seems to resolve this.

Looks like it was my exporting of the dvdprofiler the issue..... I recreate the database on Dvdprofiler and worked like a charm! Umm you know of any way for it to, autumatically put in the location of the video file? Locate the dvd/picture file? then everyhting would be perfect!

Thanks

I am seeing this error in OML v1669 and DVDProfiler v3.5.1 Build 1252

Luckily I have only ripped about 37 DVD's so far.  I should have done this years ago so I wouldn't have to spend the next six months ripping and then indexing all my DVD's/BD's.....  I am trying to get a feel for how to do this the best way.  So far I like OML, I like the interface of DVDProfiler.  I think DVDProfiler does a better job of gathering the info, but there doesn't appear to be any integration into WMC.  I also don't like the graphics options for front/back cover of DVDProfiler.  My Movies appears to integrate well with WMC, but again, there appears to be a cost associated with "features".  I was trying Movie Collectorz, but can't even get that import to work in OML (just sits there).  So far the best images appear to come from dvdempire.com and imdb.com for the covers.

Appreciate the work on OML so far.  I think I will pull down the repository later and have a look at the import sections.

The changer is sexy, as well as some of the other changers on the market...  However, I am just planning on slowly ripping my dvd's and storing them on a couple of 1.5Tb drives I just thru into an old pc I don't use.  With a combination of wmc, OML, an LG BD390, and a ps3 (thinking about getting an xbox as an extender for the living room since there isn't any nice ways to stream to a Wii...) I should be set.  Besides, the ripping, messing with OML code, gives me something to do this winter :)
