Please give some details as to what version/install files you have downloaded to install. Please also advise what OS you are runnning.

Have you also taken a look at the user manual?

Found this, http://www.ornskov.dk/forum/index.php?topic=1570.0, and found the directory to delete and trying to reinstall after uninstall, but it still does not install SQL server.

You need to do Server install (part 1 & 2) not Client.

Download both, run the .exe and it will create a single install file, then run it, and install.

It looks like you are trying to open the DB editor before the installation is completed.  I would follow this topic in the wiki...I know you have already done this, but do it again to get a fresh start point.

http://code.google.com/p/open-media-library/wiki/InstallationProblems

Then download the 2 server install parts and run part 1.  This should put both files into a single installer and allow you to do the install.  Once the installer is completed, you should be prompted with the post installation wizard.  Go through those steps and see if everything finishes successfully.

I think I had the same error when I was doing my installation and I just had to follow these steps to make the installation work correctly.

This is normal behaviour when upgrading to a newer version or reinstalling but in some cases when a previous installation went wrong or a completely clean installation is required look for a file called settings.xml under C:\ProgramData\OpenMediaLibrary\ and rename it to settings.bak. Try to reinstall.

Teh SQL error is most likely due to an out of date MSDE. See http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlsetupandupgrade/thread/a7509143-022e-4076-9c92-fae2214e6528 for a solution.

Maybe this errors occurs when the temp data was not cleared correctly.
But thats only a guess.
I solute a similar problem with fixing the temp data.
