why import database?
« on: July 28, 2010, 10:14:23 PM »
I was thinking of trying out OML specifically because I heard it would utilize the database from MovieCollector. After doing a little snooping here it appears that OML imports this database into its own editor thereby essentially creating a duplicate database. Is this true?
If so, then updating your MovieCollector db will not be reflected in OML
and re-importing may double the size of the OML database. True?
Why not have the OML editor simply open up the MovieCollector db and use it as is?

Welcome Perry,

Sorry I can not answer your question but wanted to let you know that things around the forum have been very quiet of late.  Hopefully one of the Devs who know what's happening will respond to your question.

Yes, does not seem to be much activity here :(
Guess I better just stick with media browser and media center master for now.
thanks for the reply

It does import it into the OML database (so you essentially have 2 databases).  However, when you do another import to add new movies it will not create duplicates unless you have the movie named something different from the original.
